Clear candy circles

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • ⅓ cup corn syrup
  • food coloring (optional)
  • flavoring (optional)

  1. Put sugar, water, and corn syrup in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  3. Heat to 300 degrees, or hard crack stage. Don’t stir.
  4. Remove from heat; cool until bubbles stop. Stir in color and flavoring, if desired.
  5. Grease 2 baking sheets with vegetable oil. Drop candy by spoonfuls onto sheets.
