Lentil spinach soup

Ingredients
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon basil
  • 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup dry lentils
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 can spinach
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
  1. Cook onions, carrot, and celery in a little water or oil.
  2. Add remain ingredients except salt and pepper; simmer 1 hour, adding more water as needed.
  3. Add salt and pepper.
