- 1¼ pound boneless chicken
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ bay leaf
- ½ cup white vinegar
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 15 minutes.
- Transfer chicken to serving dish; keep warm. Discard bay leaf.
- Increase heat to high. Cook sauce until syrupy, about 5 minutes.
- Serve over rice.
