Chicken adobo

Ingredients
  • 1¼ pound boneless chicken
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ bay leaf
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer 15 minutes.
  3. Transfer chicken to serving dish; keep warm. Discard bay leaf.
  4. Increase heat to high. Cook sauce until syrupy, about 5 minutes.
  5. Serve over rice.
