Lentil spinach soup

- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- ½ teaspoon basil
- 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 cup dry lentils
- 4 cups water
- 1 can spinach
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook onions, carrot, and celery in a little water or oil.
- Add remain ingredients except salt and pepper; simmer 1 hour, adding more water as needed.
- Add salt and pepper.
